Casa dei Limoni

Casa Dei Limoni is a renovation project of a residential building from the 1980s, updating its architectural layout with a contemporary approach. The intervention originates from the owners’ love for lemon trees, which become the guiding and identity-defining element of the design. This leads to the creation of a flexible environment that can transform into a winter garden during the cold season and into an open porch during the summer months. The lemon plants thus become an integral part of the architecture and of the way the house is lived throughout the year. The existing stone masonry, with its strong material and evocative presence, is preserved and enhanced as a natural backdrop to the project. Against this surface, numerous kiwi plants find space and continuity, enriching the character of the place. The reorganisation of both interior and exterior spaces creates a new functional and distributive coherence. The result is a renewed building that integrates nature and contemporary living into a single harmonious system.
