Radiant under the Mediterranean sun of Turkey, the province of Muğla is an authentic holiday dreamland. It serves as the administrative capital of the internationally renowned summer tourism region located on the southwestern coast of the country. At the very edge of its shoreline lies the exceptional heritage district of Fethiye, a testament to both the natural splendor and historical depth of the Aegean.
With its rugged coastline, sparkling bays, golden beaches, and lush greenery, this seaside town beckons travelers from all over the world. As summer progresses, its population swells exponentially from the usual 178,000 residents, bustling with the vibrant energy of tourists drawn to its charm.
Fethiye, widely renowned for its natural beauty, also boasts a treasure trove of historical wonders. Nestled within the province are fascinating relics of the past, including the ancient Telmessos Theater, the majestic King Tombs, and the storied ruins of Tlos Ancient City.
However, among these captivating sites, perhaps the most intriguing of all is the abandoned village of Kayaköy. Once a lively and dynamic town, today it stands as an evocative open-air museum, often referred to by locals as the "Ghost Village," whispering tales of its rich and haunting history.
