Bathed in the Mediterranean sun of Turkey, the province of Muğla is a highly attractive holiday destination. It serves as the administrative centre of the country’s summer tourism region, located on the south-western coast. On its coastline lies the district of Fethiye, known for its natural beauty and the historical depth of the Aegean region. The city is characterised by bays, golden beaches, a rugged coastline, and lush vegetation. During the summer, the population increases significantly due to international tourism. Fethiye preserves important historical remains such as the Ancient Theatre of Telmessos and the Lycian Rock Tombs. Among these places stands out the abandoned village of Kayaköy, today an open-air museum. Known as the “ghost village”, it still tells its story through its ruins.
